A Duophonic Hybrid Synthesizer Co-Developed by the Late Chris Huggett
PWM Music is thrilled to announce the launch of the PWM Mantis, a unique duophonic hybrid synthesizer co-developed by the late Chris Huggett, the genius behind iconic synthesizers like the EDP Wasp and OSCar. The Mantis is designed as a spiritual successor to the OSCar, featuring precision digital oscillators, dual state variable filters, and a plethora of modulation capabilities.
The Mantis sports a high-quality 37-note velocity and pressure-sensitive keybed, SSI2164 IC's for the VCF's and VCA's, and custom high-performance processors for the oscillators. Its pristine analog signal path features a twice-amplified gain structure for maximum clipping capabilities, along with lush stereo digital FX.
The Mantis was one of the last projects Chris Huggett worked on before his passing in 2020. The project was handed over to Paul of PWM, who, with the support of Chris' estate, completed this masterpiece.
The PWM Mantis will be officially launched at Superbooth on 10/05/23 at 09:00 GMT. Pre-orders for the first UK shipment are open now, with units expected to arrive in August.
The PWM Mantis is not just another synthesizer; it's a tribute to the late Chris Huggett and his lifetime of contributions to the world of electronic music. With its premium build, extensive modulation capabilities, and deep roots in synthesizer history, the Mantis is a synthesizer that deserves to be heard.
