Described as the missing link in the Moog "Mother" trilogy, the Subharmonicon semi-modular analogue synthesiser now takes it place alongside the Mother-32 and DFAM to provide endless patterns of chords, melodies and harmonies.
The Subharmonicon employs a 6-tone sound engine and multi-layered sequencers explore the world of subharmonics, polyrhythms and the unique relationship they create.
The patchbays on each piece of hardware within the trilogy present several ways of synchronising the Subharmonicon, Mother-32 and DFAM. The Subharmonicon’s clock input, Mother-32’s tempo input, and DFAM’s adv/clock input allow all three instruments to receive sync signals while Subharmonicon’s clock output, Mother-32’s assign output, and DFAM’s trigger output allow all three instruments to send out sync signals.
As a stand-alone synthesiser, the Moog Subharmonicon is a versatile analog labyrinth of subharmonically derived synthesis and polyrhythmic patterns.
